KAY GRANGER ELEMENTARY PTA

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES

Kay Granger Elementary PTA offers scholarship(s), as permitted by the approved budget, to

graduating Kay Granger Elementary Alums who will be enrolled in an accredited college or university or a technical/vocational institute in the summer or fall semester immediately following his/her high school graduation. Funds for the scholarships come from Kay Granger Elementary PTA membership fees, fundraising, and community sponsorships. The funded amount for the 2023-2024 scholarship will be $2,000.

Purpose of Scholarship

The purpose is to support Kay Granger Elementary Alums who are focused on achieving career goals through higher education. In evaluating each application, the scholarship committee will also consider service and participation in school activities, community involvement and scholastic merit.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicant must meet the following eligibility requirements:

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from a Northwest ISD High School.
Applicant must be an alumni of Kay Granger Elementary School.
Applicant or applicant’s parent/guardian must be a member of your high school’s PTA/PTSA. The member’s name must be on the current membership list as of April 1, 2024.
Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited college or university or a technical/vocational institute in the summer or fall semester immediately following his/her high school graduation.
A completed application and required documents must be received by April 10, 2024 to be eligible for consideration.

Guidelines for Submission

In order to qualify the applicant must complete and submit the following:

Application Form
A resume listing school activities, community involvement, special recognitions and awards the applicant received in high school. Also, list any work/volunteer experience during the high school years.
A copy of SAT or ACT score
A copy of High School Transcript
A 300-word essay discussing hot parent/student involvement with the PTA/PTSA has impacted the applicant's education and decision to continue his or her education.
2 Letters of Recommendation: personal or professional (excluding relatives)

All documents and applications must be marked: "KGE PTA SCHOLARSHIP" and can be submitted via email to: scholarship@grangerpta.com by April 10, 2024.

Selection and Notification

Selection is made by a Selection Panel and processed by the Scholarship Committee of the Kay Granger Elementary PTA. Recipients will be acknowledged during the Senior Royal awards.

Applicant(s) chosen to receive a KGE PTA Senior Scholarship must submit a copy of their acceptance letter from the educational institution to the Kay Granger Elementary PTA via email to : scholarship@grangerpta.com by June 15, 2024. Upon receipt, a check for the scholarship amount will be sent directly to the educational institution.

All entries submitted to Kay Granger Elementary PTA become the property of Kay Granger Elementary PTA and will not be returned.

****All decisions of the Scholarship Committee are final****

ALL documents must be received by 4pm on April 10, 2024. Submission of additional material after this deadline will not be considered.
